Shorter bank holiday week, nonetheless, it all felt a bit chaotic in work with lots of planning days/ sessions, along with some hands on design and production work for a project with a super quick turnaround period. Came back from the Peak District a bit run-down, legs also don't want to function as well as they did pre-marathons. Ignoring my moaning, it felt like a productive week, also rounded off with a nice weekend.
Work
Time in meetings: 20.9hr
- Engagement planning day: The short week started off with a planning day with my old honoury directorate, looking at how we could better improve inter-team planning.
- Strategy planning day: The above was shortly followed by another planning afternoon with my new directorate.
- Land consultation experience: Due to team capacity, leading on the delivery of a consultation project for the general public, useful to keep hands dirty to better understand the day-to-day responsibilities and challenges that the team come up against.
- Email and breifing: As of this week, as part of some organisational design changes, the digital engagement (email) team has moved under my remit, therefore have spent some time with the new team, along with digesting key information to help us move forwards in the right direction.
- Lot’s of redirection and catchups: This period always feels a bit messy, this was compounded through a lot of new projects entering the design phase of delivery. Spent a fair bit of time providing new direction and responisbility setting for these projects.

- Finished 'Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea' this week after a long slog. Ahead of its time, however, reading in the twenty-first century found difficult, far stronger ending that beggining and middle; far too factual in places.
